Hoshiar Saeed Rasheed was born in 1971 in Sulaimani, Kurdistan. In 2002, he completed his academic studies at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam, Netherlands. His artistic journey began in 1978 with his first exhibition at the Tibetan Gallery in Sulaimani, followed by exhibitions in Syria, London, Amsterdam, and various locations in the Netherlands. Notably, he participated in the 2002 establishment of the Monument of Freedom (Sculpture of Peace) in Colombia. Hoshiar has showcased his works in numerous prestigious galleries worldwide, including exhibitions in Kurdistan, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Germany, and Hungary. From 1987 to 2011, he actively participated in over 35 group exhibitions in Sulaimani, Hawler, Duhok, Paris, London, Germany, and Hungary. His engagement extended to contributing to the overall management of Zama Gallery and Dokan Gallery. Furthermore, from 2000 to 2004, he played a pivotal role in the artistic direction of the galleries in Duhok. Hoshiar Saeed’s artistic journey has left an indelible mark, reflecting a rich and diverse body of work showcased internationally.
